Overview
The Genaray Square Sun 1 × 1-foot bi-color soft LED flood light fixture provides ultrabright yet soft continuous light for photo and video shoots. This 1024-LED fixture can operate on AC or battery power, and it features flicker-free dimming from 100% to 10% with broad 120-degree coverage. The built-in diffuser and the recessed placement of the LEDs within the fixture contribute to a bright and punchy light that also has a soft wrap-around quality. This design eliminates the multiple shadows that are often associated with LED lighting. The Square Sun supports DMX-512, so the light’s settings can be remotely controlled from a DMX console. It has 512 selectable channels and a 3-pin XLR output jack to daisy chain other DMX-compatible lights. Square Sun fixtures come in a heavy-duty metal chassis that can withstand demanding professional environments. For functionality in the studio, the integrated yoke can be mounted to a light stand with a baby-pin stud or a junior-pin receiver.

Ultra Bright
Designed with 1024 ultra-bright LEDs, the Square Sun offers up to 3513 lux @ 3 feet. That’s extremely bright light for a soft fixture this size.
Single Shadow
The Square Sun throws a bright and punchy light. The recessed LEDs and the diffuser combine to eliminate multiple shadows that are often associated with LED lighting, and provide a broad 120-degree coverage that has a soft wrap-around quality.
Battery or AC Power
The Square Sun runs on a battery or AC power. It’s a multivoltage fixture capable of running on 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz, so with the proper plug adapter, you can use this LED fixture at home or abroad. For cable-free portability, you can also power the unit using a V-mount battery (not included).
DMX512
If you’re using your Square Sun for live events like theater, concerts, or fashion shows, the SS-12V2 supports cutting edge DMX-512 technology. This allows you to control the light’s settings remotely from a DMX lighting control console, which is a great feature whether you’re preprogramming chases or running your lights on the fly.
Flicker Free Dimming
Take advantage of 100% to 10% flicker-free dimming capabilities for the exact output level you need for your exposure.
Color Accuracy
You won’t need to spend your time at the computer, color correcting your shots. With a CRI of 97, the Square Sun’s color output is extremely accurate.
Fan Cooling
The Square Sun’s fan is operated by a dedicated on/off switch. To avoid noise that can be picked up by a microphone, the fan can be turned off. Like most LEDs there is a power drop when the fan is turned off, but the Square Sun only minimally drops to 80% brightness. If you’re operating at less than 80% brightness, there will be no change.
Barndoors and Filter Clips
Integrated barndoors let you shape your light while controlling light spill. Clips on the barndoors hold gels in place for even more precise diffusion and color control of your light.
Mounting Options
The integrated yoke offers mounting options for light stands that have a 5/8-inch baby-pin stud or 1⅛-inch junior-pin receiver.
LEDs are Cool
The Square Sun’s LED array generates minimal heat so you can move your light close to your subjects without causing discomfort or overheating. You’ll also save time because you don’t need to wait for your light to cool off before you move it.
