Overview
Angler’s Quick-Open Folding Beauty Dish provides a distinct lighting option for portrait and fashion photographers in a foldable and portable dish. Unlike traditional beauty dishes, this folding beauty dish comprises connected metal support rods that easily snap in place. Each rod has a quick-release button to collapse the structure which greatly speeds up your setup and teardown. The allure of a beauty dish, compared to a softbox, is that it produces slightly higher contrast in the light and dark areas, and more focus with the light that falls on your subject. This is great for bringing out more sculpted facial features or dramatic lighting textures. The sixteen-sided shape provides natural-looking circular catchlights in your subject’s eyes. A white interior lining produces a softer and neutral light output, while the inner deflector plate prevents the light from being too strong in the center. This means you can get up close without overexposing with your talent’s face. Two included diffusers help you soften the light. The inner diffuser attaches with snaps and has a built-in hot spot which further reduces the centered light. Easily attach the outer diffuser with its touch-fastener strips when you need more diffusion. Using the diffusers will disperse the light output so you can soften the light and produce a wraparound glow. If you need more control over the light output, use the compatible Angler Quick-Open Fabric Grid (available separately) to focus the light into a narrower beam. Attaching the Folding Beauty Dish is easy with the included 130 mm Bowens-type mount. And Angler offers additional 130 mm speed rings that are compatible with popular lights, including Profoto, Elinchrom, or Broncolor, which are available separately.

Integrated Support Rods
Angler’s Folding Beauty Dish features integrated support rods that easily snap into place. Each metal rod is flexible and durable and attached to the inner ring of the dish. All you have do is pull and snap them in place—no more constructing a light modifier one rod at a time.
Lever Release Mechanism
One issue that has plagued photographers using a beauty dish on their shoots is large metal light modifiers don’t collapse. The Angler Folding Beauty Dish easily collapses for storage and transport. Each of the Folding Beauty Dish’s integrated supports rods sport a lever-release mechanism. This makes it easy to break down and fold the beauty dish in seconds with the push of a few buttons.
Reflective White Interior
The white interior reflects the available light with a softer output. This allows you to get closer to your subject while maintaining light that is neutral and more flattering.
Reflector Plate
The reflector plate folds back the light and sends it outward into the white interior. This blocks light from the center source, removing the intensity of light from your subject’s face, and multiplies the reflection onto the white lining to cast out a wider beam of light.
Inner and Outer Diffusers
Two removeable diffusers give you extra control over the amount of light in your exposure. The inner diffuser has a double layer that will eliminate hot spots, and the front diffuser helps further spread light and lessen intensity.
Natural-Looking Catchlight
This sixteen-sided beauty dish produces natural-looking catchlights in your subject’s eyes. Add life to eyes that would otherwise look flat, and add dimension and depth to your portraits and studio photos.
130 mm Speed Ring
Attach the Folding Beauty Dish to most monolights using the included 130 mm Bowens-type mount. This makes it easy to fit the flexible dish into your kit of light-shaping tools. Angler’s 130 mm BBAR-Series speed-ring inserts make the beauty dish compatible with popular monolights by brands like Profoto, Elinchrom, or Broncolor.
Fabric Grid
An optional fabric grid is available separately and adds even more directionality by narrowing the beam spread and limiting light spill. This allows you to concentrate the light for a spotlight effect with little light spill.
