Overview
The Genaray 20-inch PortaSun flexible LED is a unique lighting solution for photographers on the go. The feather-light 20-inch diameter array features 672 daylight and tungsten LEDs that provide up to 5770 lux of bicolor light. The LED array mounts onto a light stand or tripod with its included X bracket and ballhead mount. But it’s also designed with mounting rings and touch-connect strips so it can hang on a wall or a picture hook. For matching other light fixtures or lighting conditions, the CCT mode allows you to dial in the precise color temperature or individually adjust the brightness of the daylight and tungsten LEDs. Special mode features seven selectable animated effects that can be adjusted to your needs. Cinematic effects that simulate the light from an open hearth or multiple camera flashes at a photo shoot can add realism and drama to your scenes. An included diffuser softens the beam and creates a single-shadow light. For light shaping, the PortaSun comes with a softbox with a grid and detachable diffuser that can focus the beam to one area while it limits light spill that can cause unwanted lens flare.

Flexible LED
The PortaSun is a unique lighting solution for home, studio, and travel. The LED array is mounted on a flexible fabric backing that you can roll up, put in its pouch, and take anywhere. Since it weighs only 1 pound, you can easily carry it in your hand or sling it over your shoulder.
Round
The round LED array creates a broad 120° throw for lighting or accenting a large area. This light also provides a round catchlight that looks more natural than the catch light from square LEDs.
Bright
The 20-inch, 672-LED array of tungsten and daylight LEDs provides up to 5460 lux of bicolor light. But you don’t have to use it all at once. The PortaSun features stepped dimming from 100% to 10% in 5% increments.
CCT Mode
There’s no anticipating what the lighting condition is going to be once you get to your location. Fortunately, Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) mode lets you adjust the color temperature from 2750 to 6500 K, so you’ll be able to match any lighting conditions you encounter. The auto feature lets you control the strength of the tungsten and daylight LEDs individually.
Color Accuracy
You won’t need to spend your time at the computer, color correcting your shots. With a CRI and TLCI of over 95, the PortaSun’s color output is extremely accurate.
Special Effects
Special mode gives you the option of adding cinematic effects that can add realism and drama to your scenes. Seven programmed animated effects can be adjusted for the perfect look for your shot. Use the effects to create the look of a crackling fire, multiple camera flashes at a photo shoot, a dance club’s strobe light, and more.
Battery or Plug-In Power
The PortaSun will run on AC power if you’re near an outlet. If you’re shooting outdoors, or in the middle of a large space, leave your extension cords home. The PortaSun’s control box has an integrated V-mount so you can operate with battery power.
X-style Mounting Bracket
The included X-style bracket lets you mount the PortaSun on a light stand. It also provides rigidity so you can use the included diffusers and softbox.
Light Shaping
You can diffuse and shape the PortaSun’s beam to your needs. A diffuser softens the beam and eliminates multiple shadows. The included softbox reduces the spread of your beam and contains light spill. For further directionality and control, the included grid fits neatly inside the softbox to focus the beam on your subject and add drama to your exposures.
Versatile
The PortaSun’s size and feather weight give you lots of creative lighting options. Use it as a standard photo or video light mounted on a light stand. Without the X-bracket, you can hang the light on a nail or touch-connect strip. Since it’s flexible, it can squeeze into places you could never fit a standard lighting fixture, so you can light almost any space. And since LEDs don’t generate much heat, you can even hold it by hand.
Multi Voltage
The PortaSun is a multivoltage fixture capable of running on 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz, so with the proper plug adapter, you can use this light at home or abroad.

The PortaSun’s LED array generates minimal heat, so you can move your light close to your subjects without causing discomfort or overheating. You’ll also save time because you don’t need to wait for your light to cool off before you move it.
