Overview
Genaray’s bicolor 600-LED Mini Moon is perfect for lighting a single subject for portraits and interviews. Whether you’re shooting photos or video, this fixture provides a soft continuous light that’s adjustable from a warm tungsten to a realistic daylight color temperature. Its round shape is perfect for lighting a single subject, and unlike square LEDs, the Mini Moon furnishes a round and natural-looking catchlight to accentuate your subject’s eyes. It operates on AC or battery power, and it features flicker-free light with broad 120° coverage and dimming from 100% to 10%. The built-in diffuser delivers a soft wraparound single-shadow light while it eliminates the hot spot that’s common in LED lighting. The Mini Moon is compatible with Genaray’s MB-WRT wireless remote transmitter that gives you the option of operating several Genaray fixtures from up to 98 feet away. With 99 selectable channels, you can avoid interference from other remotes operating in the area. The Mini Moon also supports DMX-512, so you can remotely control the light’s settings from a DMX console. It has 512 selectable channels and DMX input and output jacks to daisy-chain other DMX-compatible lights.
Features
600 LEDs on a Round Fixture
Designed with 600 LEDs, the Mini Moon offers up to 1900 lux at 3 feet. You’ll have adequate light for your subject and product shots. Unlike many LED light fixtures, this light is round, which is why it’s called the Mini Moon. The round LED array creates a natural-shaped beam that’s ideal for capturing interviews and portraits. And this light provides a round and more natural-looking catchlight than square LEDs.
Diffusion
The integrated diffuser softens the light and provides you with a beautiful single-shadow light with wraparound quality that’s perfect for portraits and fashion. The diffuser also eliminates the hot spot that’s common with LED panels.
Battery or AC Power
The Mini Moon runs on batteries or AC power. It’s a multivoltage fixture capable of running on 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz, so with the proper plug adapter, the Mini Moon is ready for worldwide use. For cable-free portability, you can also power the unit using two NP-F batteries or one V-mount battery (not included).
DMX-512
This light supports DMX-512 technology for using your Mini Moon at live events. This allows you to control the light’s settings remotely from a DMX lighting control console, which is a great feature whether you’re preprogramming chases or running your lights on the fly.
Flicker-Free Dimming
The Mini Moon emits a constant, flicker-free beam that eliminates the strobing effect commonly seen in videos that are shot at high frame rates with other LED lights.
Color Accuracy
You won’t need to spend your time at the computer, color correcting your shots. With a CRI of 95.9 and TLCI of 98, the Mini Moon’s color output is extremely accurate, so you can get away from your computer and spend your valuable time shooting and editing.
Mounting Options
The integrated yoke has a 5/8-inch baby pin for light-stand mounting.
Wireless Remote
The Mini Moon is compatible with Genaray’s MB-WRT wireless transmitter (sold separately), which gives you control over your brightness and color temperature settings from up to 98 feet away. With 99 channels to choose from, you can remotely control your Mini Moon in crowded locations, without interference from other photographers working nearby. The MB-WRT is compatible with many other Genaray lights including in the Full Moon, which allows you to integrate the Mini Moon into a sophisticated lighting setup.
LEDs are Cool
The Mini Moon’s LED array generates minimal heat, so you can move your light close to your subjects without burning or melting them. You’ll also save time because you don’t need to wait for your light to cool off before you move it.
