Overview
The Magnus REX FBVH-500 is a full-featured tripod video head that turns any photo tripod into a video platform for a camcorder or DSLR. This head is designed with a flat base that screws onto any standard 3/8-16 tripod stud and gives you all the features of an advanced video head for performing professional cinematic moves. The advanced fluid pan and drag adjustment controls and a spring-loaded counterbalance system are pro features that assure smooth motion with camera and lens combinations up to 15 pounds. Your footage will have a professional look without the jitters that come from trying to pan and tilt with a handheld camera. The handle is the main source of your control over your camera, and if you happen to be a lefty, you can easily reposition it on either side of the head. An integrated bubble level assures that your camera will be perfectly aligned with the horizon when you’re set up on an uneven surface. Integrated auxiliary 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threaded sockets let you add accessories like LEDs, microphones, or accessory arms, and you can use them to store the mounting screws that aren’t in use.

Flat Base
The FBVH-500 turns any tripod into a full-featured video head, complete with adjustable pan and tilt drag controls and mounting options for camcorders and DSLR cameras. The head’s flat base is compatible with most photo tripods, so you don’t have to carry a special video tripod with you to switch from shooting still photography to video.
Fluid Head
With pan and tilt drag control, you can dial in the exact amount of resistance for your shot. The FBVH-500’s fluid pan and drag adjustment controls deliver uniform and even panning and tilting for smooth camera motion, so your videos will look steady and professional.
Spring-Loaded Counterbalance
Providing extra security for your camera or rig, the spring-loaded counterbalance produces tension that works against your camera’s tilt. This provides extra tension for ultra-smooth tilts with cameras up to 15 pounds, and prevents your camera from tipping over.
Sliding Balance Plate with Snap-In Feature
For effortless camera mounting and dismounting, the balance plate slides into the clamp and locks in once it’s inserted. This locking feature prevents the plate from accidentally slipping out of the clamp. It’s also easier to mount larger camera and lens combinations to the head, thanks to the snap-in feature that lets you place the plate into the clamp and snap it in.
Balance System
The sliding plate lets you find the perfect balance for your camera. Mark the balance point on the plate, so you can remount your camera and instantly find the balance point.
Extendable Pan Bar
The pan bar lets you accurately and precisely control your video moves without the shaking that comes along with handheld operation. The bar extends from 13.5 to 22 inches for the perfect length for your setup. The head comes with dual rosettes for pan bar control from either side of the camera.
Auxiliary Sockets
The 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 auxiliary sockets are built into the head so you can add accessories like an articulating arm, LED, or microphone to improve the product value of your shoot. They’re also good for safekeeping the mounting screws that aren’t in use.
