Overview

Kopul’s XLR to RJ45 Pigtail Four-Channel Network Extender is an economical solution to transferring audio and DMX signals over bulky and expensive XLR snakes. The network extender uses lightweight and affordable ethernet or etherCON cables to transmit 4 discrete channels of digital audio, analog audio, and DMX signals to a back-of-house audio console, multitrack recorder, PA system, or DMX controller. A rugged aluminum chassis and heavily shielded XLR pigtails let you set up equipment connections in the most demanding event, stage, or studio environments and deliver interference- and latency-free signals to their destination, even over cable runs of hundreds of feet. When connected with a Cat 5, 5e, 6, or 7 ethernet cable, the extender provides balanced mic level, AES/EBU, and DMX signals, and it extends the length of your cable runs without interference, signal loss, or added coloration. These passive network extenders require no external power to operate. The extender is compatible with etherCON connectors, which will protect the RJ45 plug and prevent disconnects from accidental cable strain or tugs.

Features

Four Channels over Ethernet

The Kopul XLR to RJ45 Pigtail Four-Channel carries four channels of analog audio, digital audio, or DMX signals to recorders, mixing boards, PA systems, and DMX controllers over a single RJ45 cable, even if they’re hundreds of feet away. Connect the XLR4MPT-RJ45 with Cat 5, 6, or 7 cables, and you’ll never be concerned about transporting and maintaining heavy and bulky XLR snakes ever again.

Double-Shielded XLR Pigtail

The integrated XLR connectors are color coded for easy identification at the source and destination. The cables and connectors are heavily shielded to prevent EM and RF interference from entering the signal path and degrading your audio or DMX signals. A PVC jacket assures durability and flexibility.

Passive Design

The XLR4MPT-RJ45 doesn’t require a power source. Just make the connections to your mixing board, multitrack recorder, PA speakers, or DMX-equipped lights to receive a clean, interference- and latency-free signal, even if the source is hundreds of feet away.

Phantom Power

The XLR4MPT-RJ45 supports 48 V phantom power for studio applications when you’re using condenser mics for recording vocals, drums, or guitar amps. Send phantom power to your microphones from your mixing console or recorder. For offices and studios that are prewired for ethernet, use the extender to receive a mic signal between rooms or studios.

Mix and Match Signals

Use the XLR4MPT-RJ45 to simultaneously transfer any audio or DMX signal. Use the extender to send mic signals to a mixing board on one channel and operate DMX-equipped lights from a DMX controller on another channel.

CAT or etherCON Cable Connections

Ethernet cables allow for extraordinarily long cable runs. A well-shielded high-quality Cat 5e, Cat 6, and Cat 7 cable can transmit line-level analog signals between the XLR4MPT-RJ45 and XLR4FPT-RJ45 up to 3000 feet with only minimal signal degradation. etherCon cables are preferred by pros in demanding live event applications due to their locking metal shell.

RJ45 Connectors

The XLR4MPT-RJ45’s standard RJ45 female ethernet connector is compatible with any Cat 5, Cat 5e, Cat 6, and Cat 7 ethernet cable with RJ45 male connectors on each end.

Rugged Metal Construction

The network extender is perfect for the live events, conferences, concerts, houses of worship, or recording and broadcast studios, and any other demanding environment where clean and interference-free audio and DMX signals must be transmitted over long runs. The solid aluminum shell can take the bumps, bangs, and abuse that roadies can dish out and still transfer flawless signals.
