Angler’s URCB-41 black reflector cover easily fits over the front of a translucent shoot-through umbrella and transforms it into a softbox. The resulting beam is perfect for portraits and head shots because it provides a soft and diffuse wraparound beam with more intensity and less spill than the uncovered umbrella. The reflector cover will expand the versatility of a translucent umbrella, and it provides a simple, fast, and economical alternative to a softbox.

Converts Umbrella into a Softbox
Changing your setup from an umbrella to a softbox can waste valuable time that you should spend capturing the prefect exposure. Don’t unfold the softbox and start wrestling with speed rings and support rods. Instead, pull out the umbrella cover and slide it over the front of your translucent umbrella. You’ll convert to softbox-style lighting in seconds, and continue working without interrupting your shoot.
Softbox-Style Lighting
When you sue the URCB-33 / URCB-41 you can achieve the same wonderful broad and enveloping bean to flatter your subject and reduce harsh shadows that you get from a softbox. Installing the reflector cover over your shoot-through umbrella prevents light spill out of the umbrella, and converts it to softbox-style lighting . To minimize light spill, the opening for the flash head or monolight closes with a drawstring.
