Overview

Moving your lights during a shoot shouldn’t be a hassle, and more importantly, it shouldn’t interrupt your workflow. The Impact LSP-SCSB Studio Column Stand with Sliding Arm offers an effective solution for swiftly and effortlessly moving and adjusting one or more light fixtures around the set. The sliding arm is easy to operate, and it provides sturdy support for fixtures weighing up to 17.6 pounds. The sliding arm features a spring-loaded brake, and it can be positioned anywhere along the column—up to the maximum height of 7.25 feet, or almost at floor level—which is great for all varieties of standing or sitting portraits. The maximum height is perfect when you’re shooting in an office with a drop ceiling, and sliding the arm all the way down is a great option if you’re photographing children. Adding a second sliding arm (available separately) allows you to use another light fixture for a broad light source that’s great for full-length shots. By adding two softboxes to your lights, you can create a virtual wall of light.

Features

Sliding Arm

The sliding arm feature of the Studio Column Stand gives you the flexibility and options you need for a variety of shoots in the studio or in an office or home. The sliding arm is adjusted with a spring-loaded brake grip that can be operated with one hand, and it lets you secure the arm anywhere along the shaft for perfect light placement.

Durable Support

Steel construction makes this a road-ready photo and video accessory. It packs it up in its own carry bag, and can withstand the bumps and jostles when you’re driving across town or on a dirt road. The LSP-SCS can withstand the punishment, and it will be ready to set up and go to work when you arrive.

7.25 ft. Max Working Height

Impact made the stand tall, but not too tall for shooting in offices with drop ceilings. Don’t get caught cutting down a center column or removing tiles from the ceiling. Your lights will have the height you need for great lighting angles, even in low-ceiling offices.

Locking Wheels and Leveling Leg

Moving your lights effortlessly is one of the important features of the studio column stand. But once they’re in position, you want them to stay there, especially if you’re shooting on an uneven floor in an old warehouse or barn. Three-inch locking wheels easily roll on most surfaces, and lock tight once you’ve positioned them. And uneven surfaces that cause wobbling can be tamed by the adjustable leveling leg, which stabilizes the stand.

Removable Extension

Without the top column extension, the stand gives you 3.75-foot height, which is perfect if you’re shooting children or sitting portraits.

Reversible Baby Pin

The sliding arm comes with a reversible stud that gives you a few mounting options. Any light fixture that weighs up to 17.6 pounds can be mounted on the arm’s 5/8-inch baby pin. The reverse end of the pin has a 1/4-20 threaded stud for mounting accessories like an LED, ballhead, or other accessories with 1/4-20 female threads.

Wide Footprint

A 42-inch wide footprint means stability for your lights and accessories.
