Overview
The Oben Macro Focusing Rail delivers precision camera-to-subject focusing that’s ideal for macro photography or exacting close-up work. The rail provides precise front-to-back control of a macro lens whether it’s mounted on a tripod head or used as a stand-alone tabletop accessory. The FRM-7L stacks on top of the shorter FRM-4S rail for a vertical configuration that facilitates side-to-side control in tiny increments. For rapid attachment to tripod heads, this macro focusing rail is designed with a beveled edge that’s compatible with most Arca-style clamps, and a 3/8-16 bushing to attach to non-Arca platforms. It also comes with an Arca-type mounting plate that’s compatible with a camera’s 1/4-20 threaded socket. The rail’s friction is adjustable for greater control when working with heavy lenses, and the mounting platform features 360° panning with 90° stops when a quick aim adjustment is needed.

Precise Focusing
Up close macro photography is practically impossible to do with handheld focusing. For precise camera-to-subject focusing and exacting close-up work, add the Oben focusing rail to your setup for stunning macro shots. The FRM-4S lets you make front-to-back adjustments in such miniscule increments, you’ll rapidly find the sharpest focus within a thin depth of field. This is a clear advantage when you’re focus stacking.
Stackable Design
The FRM-4S macro focusing rail takes advantage of its Arca-style designed rials so you can stack them perpendicular to each other. This gives you the same micro adjustment of side-to-side positioning that you get in front-to-back focusing.
Ballhead or Tripod Mounting
The FRM-4S beveled base is perfect for mounting the rail on an Arca-type ballhead that will give you a stable base when you’re shooting nature in the field. The rail has 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threaded sockets for mounting on non-Arca tripod heads too.
Tabletop Use
For close-up work with portraits, art, or documents, the included feet feature rubber nonslip pads for a secure base, even when you’re working on a highly polished surface.
Adjustable Friction Control
Adjustable friction control comes in very handy when you’re working with a large and heavy lens. Increasing the friction will allow you to smoothly move your camera and lens into position with the adjustment and fine-tune knobs.
Rotating Platform
The Arca-style platform has fluid-style 360° panning capability in 90° increments and everything in between. This enables rapid swiveling to re-aim your camera, and the locking knob will freeze the camera in place so you can continue your shoot without interrupting your workflow.
