Lens Calibration Tool

The Vello Lens Calibration Tool identifies and fixes accuracy problems between your camera and autofocus lenses. Use a camera that has built-in AF Fine Tune or AF Micro Adjustment and use the ruler to determine front- or back-focusing issues. You can then dial in the correct adjustment and save it in your camera, so the next time you use the lens, you will have accurate focus and sharp images.

With the Lens Calibration Tool, setup is a breeze. In one pop-up move, you can have the tool ready. Attach it to a tripod using the 1/4-20 socket and use the bubble level to make sure it’s on an even plane. Having such an easy system to check the accuracy of your camera and lenses means you won’t have to spend time hauling your gear in for service. You can calibrate your lenses at your studio.

This calibration tool folds flat for portability and storage, and it has a pouch to keep it free from scratches. Put it in your bag or keep it in your drawer so you’ll have it readily available to test your auto-focus system.

An included gray card helps to check white balance. So, at the same time you’re checking your autofocus accuracy, you can make sure you’re getting accurate colors in your photos. This is great when dealing with mixed lighting situations, like daylight from a window or overhead fluorescent lighting.
