Overview
Angler’s FastBox softboxes add speed and flexibility to your lighting setup. Take a FastBox with you to a shoot and, with its quick setup design, be ready to go to work in a fraction of the time it takes to set up an ordinary softbox. The FastBox expands by snapping and locking it into its rectangular shape that’s great for a head-and-shoulder accent or as a creative key light. A built-in speed ring allows for quick flash attachment with adapters (sold separately), so you can use a standard on-camera flash or the Profoto A1 and Godox V1 flash heads. The pistol grip design uses a unique twist lock to attach to any light stand with a 5/8-inch stud, and it allows you to adjust the tilt with a simple squeeze of the trigger lock. The silver interior amplifies your flash’s output, and the included inner and outer diffusers create an even beam without hot spots. This all adds up to a rapidly deployed light modifier that gives you a beautiful and flattering light from edge to edge. Use the FB1x3SK in vertical or horizontal orientation for different lighting effects and feathering and add diffusion to soften and even out the harsh light of your flash. The FastBox series has a wealth of optional accessories for shaping, diffusing, and color correcting your light without interrupting your workflow. To create the exact light for your exposures, the gel kit features color-correcting gels, a diffuser, a honeycomb grid, and a gel frame to add any gel of your choice.
Features
Strip Softbox
The FR-1x3SK is a strip softbox that provides a rectangular beam with soft edges that’s often used as an accent or creative key light—perfect for tight spaces. Its shape gives it different functions in horizontal or vertical orientations. Placed in front of and above a subject, it throws a wide and flattering beam. Behind a subject, use it as a head-and-shoulder light that will accentuate your subject’s form and shape.
Silver Interior
The FastBox’s reflective silver interior amplifies your flash head's output. A silver interior ensures you get the most light transmission from your flash so you can shape and modify the beam to your specifications.
Rapid Setup
The one-motion setup is why it’s called a FastBox. The FR-1x3SK bypasses the entire process of setting up an ordinary softbox, and lets you set up in seconds. The FastBox expands to its full size as you snap it into place for a tight shell that will give you an even and consistent beam.
5/8-Inch Twist-Lock Receiver
The FB-1x3SK FastBox is compatible with any standard light stand with a 5/8-inch stud. The unique pistol-grip and twist-lock design secures the FastBox to a light stand.
Pistol Grip
The FastBox comes mounted on its own pistol grip that has tilt adjustment controlled by a trigger. The pistol grip allows for 120° of tilt adjustment, so aiming the FastBox up towards the ceiling or down for a product shoot takes only a squeeze of the trigger.
Two Diffusion Layers
The FastBox has both inner and outer baffles to evenly diffuse your flash and soften the light. It casts a flattering, smooth light on your subject while minimizing hotspots and offering even lighting from edge to edge.
Color Correction Kit
The Color Correction Kit (separately available) works seamlessly with your FastBox for rapid color correction. Each piece magnetically attaches to the front of the FastBox, so adding and changing them won’t cause delays on your shoot. A diffuser is included to soften most flashes, as well as a gel frame that can be used to add a gel of your choice. The kit also comes with a honeycomb grid that adds directionality to your beam while minimizing light spill.
Fabric Grid
A fabric grid is available separately and attaches to the recessed touch-connect strips on the FastBox. It narrows the beam of your flash and controls light spill without compromising light quality. The grid is ideal for portraits, fashion, and dramatic shots, where directional light is desired.
