Overview
The Vello BG-N16-2 battery grip is designed for the Nikon D5600 and D5500 DSLR cameras and offers extended shooting time and comfort in a vertical (portrait) orientation. The grip accepts up to two rechargeable Nikon EN-EL14/EL14a batteries, doubling your power for taking more photos and videos. There is an alternate shutter release button and a control lock switch allowing you to capture images and prevent unwanted exposures. These controls make the grip ideal for comfortably shooting portrait photography at the next wedding or corporate function. An included IR remote allows easy line-of-sight wireless shooting so you can step away from the camera and capture your shot.

Alternate Shutter Release Button
An alternate shutter release makes it comfortable to shoot in portrait orientation, so you won’t have to twist your arm to get the right shot.
Control Lock
A control lock is provided so you can quickly lock the controls. This prevent you from accidentally triggering the shutter while you’re shooting in a landscape position.
IR Remote
The IR remote allows you to wirelessly trigger your Nikon D5500 or D5600 DSLR cameras. Simply point the remote at the IR sensor, without any obstacles in between, and trigger a shot. Step away from the camera and focus on getting everyone in the scene you’re shooting.
AA Battery Holder
An included AA battery holder takes six AA batteries. This makes it easy to have an alternate power source, that’s common to find, when out in the field.
Nonslip Grip
A rubber nonslip grip enables enhanced handling when shooting in portrait orientation, even with cold or wet hands. So, taking pictures of birds in a humid forest or capturing the kids making a snowman just got easier.
1/4-20 Mounting Screw
The BG-N16-2 attaches to your camera’s tripod socket with a 1/4-20 mounting screw for a secure fit. A 1/4-20 tripod socket on the bottom of the grip means your camera retains its mounting ability.
