Impact’s 40-inch C-Stand is an industry-standard go-to accessory that you’ll see on practically every photo, video, and film set. The stand features steel and aluminum construction for strength, and it lives up to the name “century stand” for its durability, and because it has at least a hundred different uses. The stand is made to industry-standard size, so it will perfectly fit on grip trucks or C-stand racks and carts. Even with slightly lower weight, the new stands retain the same exceptional stability as the original Impact stands, making it easier while traveling. The Impact team went over every detail of the LS-CTB-40 C-stand and enlarged the locking handles, redesigned the hexagonal brake collars, and added a hexagonal baby pin. Along with the same wide tube diameters, rigidity, and load capacity this stand delivers best-in-class stability for your valuable lights and grip gear. The removeable turtle base makes transportation easy. The base features a junior 1⅛-inch receiver that allows you to remove the riser and exchange it for a different-size riser or a stand adapter for low-angle shooting. Impact’s unique quick-release leg lock collar simplifies opening and closing the legs for rapid deployment and breakdown. Other unique features like hexagonal brake castings, welded legs, and custom locking knobs give the C-stands a classic, sleek, and streamlined look.

New Classic C-Stand Design
The 40-inch LS-CTB40-B C-stand has a new design that conforms to industry standards and perfectly fits grip trucks or C-stand racks and carts. The legs are also standard-sized to allow close nesting with comparable C-stands when several stands need to be deployed in a tight space. And the new design made makes this C-stand a pound or two lighter, without changing the tube diameters, rigidity, and load capacity. And what grip doesn’t mind when a stand sheds a pound or two?
Spring-Loaded Leg Lock
A spring-loaded leg locking collar was made for fast and easy deployment and breakdown. You’ll love this feature because there’s no twisting, turning, or wrestling with the legs. Once the locking collar is released, gravity takes over, and the legs simply fall into place in seconds.
Turtle Base
The Turtle base allows you to detach the main riser for easy transportation when you don’t have a lot of trunk space for your gear. When you need to mount a light fixture or accessory close to the ground, remove the main riser from the stand’s junior receiver and add a replacement riser, a junior-to-baby-pin adapter, or any other 1⅛ in. adapter to the base.

Knurled Pin
The simplest design advantage can save you time and effort, especially if you’ve ever experienced a horizontally mounted light slipping out of position due to a poor grip on a smooth pin. The top baby pin is knurled for superior hold. Set your lights once, and they won’t slip out of position.
Milled Hexagonal Baby Pin
The 40-inch grip arm features a 5/8-inch hexagonal pin for securing light fixtures with a 5/8-inch receiver. If a light fixture with a modifier the size of a medium softbox doesn’t have a firm enough grip on a round pin, its weight can make it twist or rotate. Tightening a locking knob to a pin with a milled flat surface will prevent your light fixture from twisting out of position.
